The former Brazilian leader has been arrested after authorities determined he posed a serious risk of fleeing while under home confinement.

Brazilian Supreme Court Justice the presiding justice said the action to imprison the septuagenarian politician was a preventative measure after "new facts" emerged.
This involved seeking to disable his tracking device and a invitation to a demonstration that could "allow for a chance to flee".
Legal Document Reveals Escape Risks
In a document approving the arrest, the magistrate said information from the centre monitoring his home detention suggested the ex-president's "intention to break the tracking monitor to secure accomplishment in his flight.
This, it said, would be "facilitated by the chaos caused by the protest called by his child.
His child, his son Flávio, who holds office as a senator, called for a meeting of his supporters near Bolsonaro's home to take place on Saturday evening.
The senator wrote on online platforms on the previous day: Will you battle for your country, or observe everything from your smartphone there on your settee? I urge you to struggle with us."
He said the demonstration would be so backers could "pray for his health and for the restoration of democratic rule in our land."
Diplomatic Refuge Fears
Part of the magistrate's decision was the chance of his move to embassies near the home, considering that the investigations revealed a record of arranging to ask for protection through a consular facility", a statement said.
The judicial paperwork emphasizes that the American diplomatic mission in the federal district, the capital city, is located around approximately 13 kilometers from Bolsonaro's home.
Worldwide Consequences
Bolsonaro's legal woes have generated frustration from fellow conservative nationalist US President Trump, prompting him to impose a fifty percent tax on imports of Brazilian goods.
He is being detained in a national police facility in Brazil's capital city and will undergo a custody hearing on the next day.
